few decades ago these kinda bikes were the most popluar mode of transport within the city ... but these days ... with the introduction and sudden influx of battery operated mopeds ... honda scooters and toyota cars ... the push bike has become almost non existant ... only an occasional old timer or a foreign laborer can be seen riding a bike like this now ...

Interesting commentary. I used to ride a very similar bike when I lived in Holland. They are hard to pedal and take a lot of energy.

I know the owner of that bike. We were neighbours. He said he was now 76 years old. He had personally served under 2 kings, His royal highnesses Abdul Majeed and Hassan Fareed and 2 presidents, His excellencies Mohamed Ameen and Ibrahim Nasir. Some of the stories he has about those days are real gems.
